Russian ballistic missiles hit residential area of Kryvyi Rih: at least 16 dead, including children
On April 4, 2025, at about 18:50, Russian troops launched a missile attack on one of the residential neighborhoods of Kryvyi Rih. According to the head of the city’s Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, the strike was carried out with a ballistic missile right in the center of a residential area, in an area where a playground is located nearby.

At least 16 people have been officially confirmed dead, including at least six children. According to the latest updates from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the number of children killed has risen to six. The number of injured has exceeded 50, and according to officials, it continues to grow.
Oleksandr Vilkul said that as a result of the attack, fires broke out in the city, residential high-rise buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. The situation on the ground remains critical, rescuers and medics are working.
“As of now, 16 people have been killed, including 6 children. My condolences to the families and friends. The rescue operation is ongoing. At least 5 houses were damaged,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram on Friday evening.
This attack is yet another evidence of Russia’s targeted attacks on civilians, which is a violation of international humanitarian law.
