The farewell ceremony for the Kulyk family was held at the Salvation House of Prayer, where relatives, friends and caring people gathered to honor the memory of the victims.
“The tragedy that occurred in Kryvyi Rih once again reminds us of the danger that constantly hangs over the civilian population,” said TSN correspondent Olga Pavlovska.
The incident took place on Monday, November 11, when Russian military struck a high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih, destroying apartments from the first to the fifth floor. The attack killed four people and injured 14, including two children, who are currently in stable condition.
It took rescuers more than 20 hours to find the bodies of the victims under the rubble, and only then were they able to get them out.
The Kulyk family were active members of the Blessing Church in Radushne, Dnipropetrovs’k region, where they had lived for more than seven years. According to church minister Mykola Korolyuk, the family was actively involved in charitable activities. Olena helped her husband distribute lunches to the homeless, and Maksym supported orphanages.
“It was such a wonderful family,” Korolyuk said, “Olena was a wonderful mother, she had a good heart. They are people with a capital P.” He also noted that condolences and words of support are coming not only from local residents, but also from people in America and other countries.
