The National Day of Prayer in the Verkhovna Rada began with the spiritual hymn “God is Great, One”

Today’s plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held on the National Day of Prayer, began with the performance of the spiritual hymn “God is Great, One”.

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing a broadcast hosted by European Solidarity MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.

The parliamentary hall was attended not only by MPs but also by government representatives, including Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy, as well as European parliamentarians and European commissioners.

As a reminder, according to the resolution adopted on February 12, February 24 will now be celebrated annually in Ukraine as the National Day of Prayer, which is timed to coincide with the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale aggression. As part of this initiative, the session of the Verkhovna Rada began with traditional elements: the national anthem of Ukraine, a minute of silence and a spiritual hymn.
