Zelensky voiced Ukraine’s losses: 43 thousand dead and 370 thousand wounded

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Ukraine’s losses in the full-scale war with Russia. Since the beginning of the invasion, 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, and 370,000 wounded have received medical care. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has lost 43 thousand soldiers who died on the battlefield. There have been 370 thousand cases of assistance to the wounded. Approximately 50% of the wounded return to service, and this is due to the high level of development of frontline medicine,” Zelensky emphasized.

He thanked the doctors who save lives and rehabilitate the military every day.

The President also noted Russia’s significant losses:

“Updated data show that the losses of Russian troops exceed 750 thousand people. Of these, 198 thousand were killed and over 550 thousand wounded. Since September of this year, the ratio of losses on the battlefield has been 5 and sometimes 6 to 1 in our favor.”

Zelensky emphasized that achieving real peace is impossible without guarantees:

“We all know Putin very well – he is sick of war. He can only be stopped by force, by the power of the leaders of the world who can become leaders of peace. The only thing he is afraid of is America and the unity of the world.”

The President emphasized that a simple piece of paper with signatures does not guarantee the end of the war. He recalled that Russia had repeatedly violated peace agreements, using pauses to prepare new aggressions.

“Peace must be permanent and reliable. We count on the support of our partners, especially America and the whole world, to stop Putin,” he added.

The President noted that Ukraine had already returned 3,935 people from Russian captivity, including 3,767 military and 168 civilians. He emphasized that thousands more remain in captivity, and several million people remain in the occupied territories.

Zelensky also drew attention to the problem of deportation of Ukrainian children:

“Russia is talking about hundreds of thousands of stolen children who are being dispersed across its territory. Returning them is the most difficult thing, but it is our duty.”
