Ukraine has become a leader in mortality and has the lowest birth rate in the world, according to the CIA

Ukraine has become the world’s leading country in terms of mortality and ranked last in terms of birth rates. These data were released by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in its latest report.

According to statistics, the mortality rate in Ukraine is currently 18.6 deaths per 1000 people, which is the highest among all countries in the world. Lithuania ranks second with 15.02 deaths per 1,000 people, and Serbia is third with a mortality rate of 14.9 per 1,000 people. The lowest mortality rate in the world is recorded in Qatar – only 1.4 deaths per 1000 people.
As for the birth rate, Ukraine also has the lowest rate – only 6 births per 1000 people. The penultimate place in terms of birth rate is occupied by the French possession of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon with 6.4 births per 1000 people. At the same time, the highest fertility rate in the world is recorded in Niger, where there are 46.6 births per 1000 people.
As of 2024, the mortality rate in Ukraine is three times higher than the birth rate. The highest rates are recorded in Dnipropetrovska oblast and Kyiv.
