VI Prayer Breakfast of Prykarpattia united hundreds of people in prayer for Ukraine, faith and victory

On May 22, King Daniel University in Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the VI Prayer Breakfast of the Carpathian Region under the slogan “Together in Faith.” The event brought together participants from different parts of Ukraine – representatives of the clergy, local and central authorities, MPs, diplomats, military, volunteers, doctors, educators, journalists, entrepreneurs, families of fallen heroes and mothers of prisoners. During the war, prayer became a powerful spiritual weapon.

Unity in prayer

The prayer breakfast was initiated by Ukrainian MP Oksana Savchuk and businessman Oleh Sheremeta. The event was centered on a joint prayer for the Ukrainian military, victory, peace, protection of families, and the spiritual revival of the country.

“The Prayer Breakfast is not just a tradition. It is a space where different branches of government, clergy, military and society can unite in prayer and hope. Today we need unity, faith and inner strength more than ever,” emphasized Oksana Savchuk.

Words from the front line and pain

The testimonies of the participants were especially touching:

  • Colonel Mykhailo Kryzhanivsky, commander of the 25th National Guard Brigade, shared stories about his daily struggle at the front.
  • Lesya Voloshchuk, a teacher and mother of a wounded defender, spoke about a mother’s heart torn between pain and hope.
  • Pavlo Unguryan, founder of the National Prayer Breakfasts, emphasized the importance of dialogue between church, state and society.

“Prayer is a spiritual battle, and such events are our spiritual front,” said Oleh Sheremeta.

Serving through prayer and action

During the event, a fundraiser was held for the Sapsan tactical group of the 24th King Danylo Brigade, which is fighting in Chasovyi Yar.

Participants were inspired by musical performances by Oksana Romaniuk, Yuriy Gresko and chaplain Askold Kvyatkovsky. Prayers, songs and words of hope sounded like a common spiritual testimony of faith.

“In time of war, we unite in faith because we know that God is with us, the truth is with us, and we will definitely win,” the participants emphasized.
