The incident occurred in the village of Urozhayne when volunteers were unloading the aid. Fortunately, people were not injured, but the vehicle and part of the cargo were damaged.
The humanitarian vehicle had left Kryvyi Rih with a load of aid for the residents of the Beryslav community. By the time of the attack, the volunteers had managed to deliver about 380 food packages to several villages in the area. The village of Urozhayne was the final point of the route.
At 11:30 a.m., during unloading, a drone attacked a car, aiming for the cab, but hit the body behind the driver’s seat. The driver reacted instantly, evacuating the rest of the cargo and moving the truck out of the danger zone.
The unloading had to be stopped due to the threat of repeated attacks as other enemy drones remained in the sky above the scene. The vehicle is returning to Kryvyi Rih, where experts will assess its technical condition and the extent of damage to the cargo.
ADRA Ukraine, in partnership with the UN, continues to provide assistance to the affected communities despite the daily risks. This incident is yet another confirmation of the dangers faced by humanitarian missions in the war zone and the need for international protection of civilian initiatives and services.
