Tragedy in Yarova: Russian airstrike kills 25 people during pension distribution

On September 9, a Russian aerial bomb killed 25 civilians and injured 18 others in the village of Yarova, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region. The strike was carried out at the moment when local residents were receiving their pensions. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
According to him, a Ukrposhta service vehicle was also hit. This is one of the most massive attacks on civilians in Donetsk region in recent months.
President Volodymyr Zelensky called the attack “a blatantly brutal aerial bombing of civilians”:
“At the moment when pensions were being distributed, Russia dropped a bomb. There are no words… My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims. Such attacks must not go unanswered by the world.”
Although Russian troops carried out more than 40 attacks on settlements in Donetsk region during the same day, it was the tragedy in Yarova that became a symbol of cynical terror against the civilian population.
