Save Ukraine is negotiating with international partners to preserve information about Ukrainian children abducted by the Russians. The United Kingdom and Canada can play an important role in this process.
This was stated by the head of Save Ukraine Mykola Kuleba on the air of the Suspilne TV channel. According to him, the organization is looking for countries that are willing to support the continuation of the work of Yale University, which has been collecting evidence of the abduction of Ukrainian children.
Threat of destroying evidence of war crimes
Yale University has been collecting information on the whereabouts of children taken by the Russians to their territory, including those whose parents were killed or arrested. This data is supposed to be indisputable evidence of war crimes committed by the Putin regime.
However, there is now a risk of losing these materials. Save Ukraine emphasizes the need to stop the process of possible data destruction and ensure that it is transferred to international institutions for further investigation.
Cooperation with the United States and Europe
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the US State Department has funded the work of Yale University as part of a program to find abducted children. The collected materials were to be transferred:
- Europol
- the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine
- The International Criminal Court.
Save Ukraine worked closely with Yale University, exchanging important information that helped in the search for and return of abducted children.
“No child should be forgotten!”
The organization expressed gratitude to the United States for its support and looks forward to further involvement of Washington in this process.
“No child should be forgotten! We continue to work to return all abductees home!” said Kuleba.
