The fire was quickly localized and extinguished. There were no casualties among the employees of the government building. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed the damage: the roof and upper floors of the Cabinet of Ministers were destroyed. She published photos of the burned corridors and thanked the rescuers for their work.

“Russian terror will not stop the government from functioning. We will rebuild what has been destroyed, but we cannot bring back the Ukrainians who have died. Last night alone, four people were killed and more than 44 were injured across the country. Russia does not want peace,” Svyrydenko emphasized.

She called on international partners to impose tougher sanctions on Russian energy carriers and provide Ukraine with more air defense systems to protect its skies and energy infrastructure, especially ahead of winter.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia used a record 823 air attack weapons in the night attack: 810 Shahed strike drones and drone simulators, 9 Iskander-K cruise missiles, and 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Most of the targets were shot down by air defense forces, but 9 missiles and 56 drones hit various regions.
At least two people were killed in Kyiv, and more than 20 were injured. Residential high-rise buildings were also damaged. Three men were injured in Kryvyi Rih, and destruction and casualties were also reported in the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.
