President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the participants of the event online. He thanked the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk for organizing the event and noted its importance:
“Morality, faith and courage unite countries and leaders in the fight for life. This is reminiscent of the Christian idea: when darkness seems endless, light appears.”
In his speech, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the need to preserve unity and traditions:
“We are forming a wonderful tradition – a pre-Christmas prayer in a circle of like-minded people. Different political forces, denominations and beliefs are united by a common goal – the defense of our state.”
He also called to remember the Ukrainian soldiers who are defending the country’s independence and honor the memory of the fallen.
“Let us pray for their victory and courage. Let everyone return home, and let the memory of the fallen be eternal,” Stefanchuk added.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal emphasized the role of unity and prayer in achieving victory:
“Unity in goals, deeds and actions is our right path. Together with international support, this is the key to our resilience.”
The breakfast was attended by MPs, government officials, chaplains, spiritual leaders of various faiths, war veterans and activists. The participants discussed spiritual values that are the basis for the joint recovery and development of Ukraine.
